The litter pick follows a commitment from all pupils across the area to keep East Renfrewshire litter free.
Earlier this month around 90 pupils from schools across East Ren took part in an inspiring and motivational morning of hearing about how each person can make a difference to the cleanliness of their local community. And to back this pledge more Barrhead High pupils signed their support before taking to the streets to pick up litter in Barrhead.
The youngsters split up into groups so they could cover more ground.
The pledge backs the national ‘Keep Scotland Beautiful’ campaign which aims to engage more than 1,000,000 Scots to rid their country of litter and other antisocial behaviour.
