Morrison, who defeated Abdoul Toure at Wishaw’s Rivals Centre just over a week ago, has been snapped up by East Renfrewshire bus company Whitestar Coaches. The company are the latest in a line of new sponsors of Morrison who is being tipped for the top by quarters of the fighting community.
Morrison said: “I can’t thank Brian at Whitestar enough for the sponsorship — he has sponsored me before in my amateur days and I am over the moon that he is now supporting me through my professional career as well.
“It is down to people like Brian that makes what I do possible. I really couldn’t compete at the highest level in this sport if it wasn’t for the sponsors.
“I’m just looking forward to my next fights and representing my sponsors in the ring and hopefully doing them proud.” With a title under his prodigy’s belt, fight boss Vinnie McWilliams is keen to keep the success coming for Neilston’s premier fighter.
Morrison’s next fight looks set to be announced for June 13 as he faces his next test in what is shaping up to be a fairytale story for the fighter.
McWilliams added: “We are close to securing another opponent for John-Ross and the fight is looking likely to be on June 13.
“I don’t like announcing anything until the deal has been signed but I can assure you the Barrhead News will be the first to know. I’m hoping to have everything tied up before the weekend.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Whitestar Coaches as well for their sponsorship.
“Just to echo what JR has already said, we really couldn’t get into this position if it wasn’t for the sponsors — we are entirely grateful.
“I’m confident we will have a fight announcement confirmed for next week’s edition and we will also have a schedule for the press conference and weigh-ins so keep posted.” Any other companies that can help with sponsors can contact JR Morrision and Vinnie McWilliams via Facebook and Twitter.
