Glenrothes..................................2

Arthurie........................................1

IT was a case of déjà vu for Arthurlie supporters on Saturday when Glenrothes sent the Barrhead side crashing out of the Scottish Cup for the second time in three seasons, writes Robert Burns.

The last visit was in the second round in November 2007, while only Frank McKeown, John Bradford, and John Johnston remain of the players on duty that day the memory was still fresh for the supporters.

The game which had previously been postponed got a last minute OK after two pitch inspections and a last minute OK from the match referee and a good travelling support headed east with high expectations.

Truth of the matter is that Arthurlie just didn't perform on the day and apart from a late flurry they were beaten by the better side on the day.

Two sloppy goals which were side footed efforts from inside the six-yard box plus the defence sitting too deep allowing the home side to dominate possession for long spells meant that the Lie were as masters of their own downfall.
