The Dunterlie oldies came out on top in the knockout competition which pitted Lie against Pollok, Neilston and Arden Villa veterans.

The annual competition, all for charities Bliss, The Yorkhill Foundation and the Neilston War Memorial Fund, has become a staple of the junior football calendar, and now into its eighth year, it has proven successful as ever.

Arthurlie cruised past Arden Villa in the semi-final, having watched Neilston defeat Pollok in the opening tie. The Farmer’s Boys had the heroics of Brian Hewitt to thank as the game went to a penalty shootout.

The stars of the future, the Neilston Wasps, held an exhibition match before the final, which Lie won 3-0.

The organisers would like to extend their thanks to Crofthead Bowling Club, Neilston FC, Graham Walker, Charlie Connelly, Campbell McLeod, referee Graham Vance and Paul and Pauline on the gate. Also thanks to Peter Mulholland from Arthurlie Inns and Paul Thomson for donating the player prizes.
