The Dunterlie side took the lead on Saturday at Holm Park, before errors let the Bankies back in to net three times to secure the points.

And following the result, the ‘Lie gaffer admitted he is on the search for a winning solution after he confessed Clydebank dominated his side.

He told Barrhead Sport: “Every game is a must win for us now, every game is a cup final, and on Saturday we were found wanting.

“I can’t hide away from that and it is my responsibility and I have to take it on the chin and turn things around — that is the bottom line.

“You have always got to find a winning solution and that is what we will be doing at training this week and again just working on the basics of the game and making sure the boys are aware of how important Saturday is.

“The ability is here and I know when the boys play, they can match anyone, and that is why I know we can still stay up.” He added: “We started well, scored an early goal and the players did what they were told.

“We told them that the ball at the back post would hurt them and after that we just didn’t play for the rest of the game.

“I really thought we had got over this during the last few weeks, playing well against the top sides in this league, but the Jekyll and Hyde came back on Saturday.

“Clydebank were streets ahead of us.

“It makes it frustrating for us because of the fact it is basic errors that are hurting us.

“Their first goal comes from us playing a ball and taking a touch of the ball in an area we have told them not to.

“Once we conceded that goal, they got the lift because we were on top then, and we hit rock bottom and we got punished and that is the harsh reality of football.”
