Arthurlie 7 - Petershill 0

MOBBED: The players celebrate the rout
ARTHURLIE were in seventh heaven as they ran riot in a demolition job against helpless Petershill at Dunterlie Park on Saturday.
Petershill had three men shown red in the match but this emphatic victory still displayed how lethal the 'Lie are.
It was also sweet revenge from Mark Cameron's men, who lost 4-2 to the Glasgow side in September.
After only four minutes Arthurlie were handed a great opportunity to open the scoring when Joe Andrew was adjudged to have been brought down inside the Petershill area.
Andrew made no mistake from the spot, sending keeper Ryan Scully the wrong way.
Just 60 seconds later Andrew was again felled inside the area but although this looked more clear cut than the first award the referee waved away the home side's claims.
In the 10th minute Sean Winter burst into the Petershill area before firing a great left foot drive that was only bettered by Scully's fantastic reflex save.
It was one-way traffic now and only a matter of time before the home side increased their lead.
On 16 minutes Andrew jinked past a couple of tackles before sending a delightful lob over the stranded Scully, who could only look on as the ball hit the underside of the bar before dropping on the goal line.
Andrew looked on in disbelief that his effort hadn't gone in but Craig Malcolm was alert enough to race through and stab the ball over the line.
The game in truth was over by now as the Glasgow side had no answer to Arthurlie's pace and movement up front.
On the half hour the game was definitely dead when Ryan Jordan received a second yellow card of the game for dissent and was given his marching orders.
From the free kick he had disputed Frank McKeown fired in a low right foot shot from the edge of the box that left Scully with no chance.
Two minutes later James McKinstry brought down Andrew on the edge of the area and was shown a straight red card for being the last man, although that was maybe a harsh call.
John McLay showed no sympathy however, as the free kick was laid back to him the big midfielder fired in a low left foot drive to put Arthurlie four ahead.
On 37 minutes Steven Crawford almost opened his 'Lie account when he managed to get a shot away after a stramash inside the Petershill area, but Scully pulled off another fantastic save to deny the left back.
In the final minute of the first half Crawford sent over a fantastic cross to Winter who had ghosted in at the back post but his effort went inches wide.
The second half started the same way as the first - with non-stop attacking from the home side.
Seven minutes after the restart a Stephen Gallacher run down the right wing ended with him sending over a low cross that Malcolm guided home for number five.
Michael Keenan was shown his second yellow of the game meaning it was now 11 against eight.
Stephen Anderson was introduced at the expense of Malcolm as the home management's thoughts possibly looked ahead to next week's Scottish Cup tie.
Just before the half hour Crawford sent over another fantastic cross that saw Andrew fire a great effort that crashed off the bar, the ball was sent back into the area and Winter rose highest.
But his header landed on the roof of the net.
Arthurlie kept going though and two minutes later Winter sent over a cross for Anderson to head home number six.
It was another Winter cross that gave substitute Steven Bonar an opening seconds later but his effort went over the top.
Bonar wasn't to be denied his first goal for the club for long though as with eight minutes to go he headed home an Anderson cross to make it seven and complete the rout.
All in all it was an easy victory for the Barrhead side against a team who have caused them problems over the last couple of seasons.
The three sendings off certainly played a part in the margin of victory but even before Jordan had been given his marching orders the game was effectively over.
