ARTHURLIE racked up another three points on Saturday with a 2-1
victory away to Lanark.
Goals from John Bradford and Craig Malcolm were enough to secure the win, the only downside being the home side's consolation goal deep into injury time.
After 20 minutes Bradford was on hand to slot home a left-foot effort past home Lanark Allan Creer to open the scoring.
The first half seemed to drift by without many incidents and the Barrhead side went in at the break 1-0 up.
The second half had barely started when Arthurlie doubled their lead.
Malcolm, lurking six yards from goal, took a ball from wide before turning on a six-pence and sending home a low shot past the helpless Creer.
Both sides huffed and puffed for the remainder of the game but Lie never looking in any danger until Grant Cuthill slipped the ball past the helpless Parry in the dying seconds.
Currently sitting fourth in the table, three points behind leaders Auchinleck and Largs, it has been a
positive start to the season for the Dunterlie side.
Four wins from six games, scoring 16 and conceding 10, is in stark contrast to last season's start to the league campaign where after six matches two draws and four defeats had taken place with only five goals scored and 13 conceded.
Arthurlie didn't actually win a league match until November 22 last season on their seventh outing of the campaign and it wasn't until Glenafton were beaten 5-0 on February 21 that they registered their fifth win.
The Barrhead News will have gone to print before Arthurlie's next match, the Sectional League Cup final against Shotts Bonn Accord in a repeat of last year's final which the Barrhead side won 3-2.
We will bring you a full report of the match in next week's paper.
Due to the September holiday, Arthurlie do not have a game this weekend.
But if you need your football fix, ex-players of Arthurlie and Pollok will do battle at Dunterlie Park this coming Sunday in the Eric Hickey Legends match with proceedings due to start around 1.30pm.
It promises to be an fantastic occasion for the town.
