Vale of Clyde 0 Arthurlie 7

Arthurlie destroyed Vale of Clyde last Saturday with a display of attacking football that had their supporters in raptures.

The Barrhead side won by seven goals and were by no means flattered by the huge scoreline.

Callan Adam had an effort headed off the line with only three minutes gone but just six minutes later the Lie were ahead.

A long kick-out from Neil Parry found Craig Malcolm on the edge of the Vale penalty area and he headed home past the stranded keeper.

On 15 minutes Arthurlie doubled their advantage, a Frank McKeown free kick from 25 yards looked easy for the Vale keeper Scott Threlfall but he somehow managed to let the ball slip through his hands.

On 26 minutes the game was effectively over as a contest.

Joe Andrew blocked Threlfall's attempted clearance, which fell to Morrison. He seemed to have all the time in the world but delayed long enough for Andrew to block his clearance and deflect the ball into the net.

Vale midfielder Tam McDonald received his second yellow card on the half hour for dissent, reducing the home side to ten men and six minutes later Sean Winter made it four.

Malcolm's cross was too deep but Graham Dale sent the ball back into Andrew, whose effort was only partially blocked with Winter on hand to tap home the rebound.

With five first-half minutes remaining Arthurlie went napping as Andrew almost got on the end of a ball from Dale at the back post.

The second half started with Arthurlie again on the attack and Andrew should have scored after three minutes but screwed his effort just wide.

Neil Parry had to make his first and only save of the match on 14 minutes in what could prove to be his easiest afternoon in a Lie shirt. James Lundie and Lee Sharp replaced Dale and Stephen Gallacher as Mark Cameron rang the changes.

On 19 minutes Malcolm sprang the offside trap before firing home and ten minutes later he completed his hat-trick when hitting home from a Lundie cross.

With the game almost over the home side's despair was complete when player manager John Crooks saw red to end a totally miserable day for the Glasgow side.

Next up for Arthurlie is a trip to face Beith on Saturday, kick off 2pm.
