Dylan Fletcher had a Saturday to remember against Port Glasgow on Saturday.

The striker signed a new deal with the Farmer’s Boys until the end of 2019, and immediately repaid co-managers Martin Campbell and John Paul Dow by scoring a hat-trick to ensure the victory for his side, taking his tally to seven in competitive games this season.

He said: “ I’m pretty buzzing about it. I love it up here, ever since I’ve been here. It’s new to myself going up from the under-21s to a junior team but it’s a good level.

“They’ve been good to me so far so I’m proud to just pay them back.”

And co-manager Martin Campbell was delighted with the progress the youngster had made this season after making the step up from Johnstone Burgh’s under-21s.

Campbell added: “He seems to be loving his time at Neilston, his attitude is first class at training and for a young boy coming in for his first season of juniors he’s doing really really well, and that showed with his hat-trick on Saturday.

“I’d spoken to him over the last couple of weeks to see what his thoughts were.

“We have high hopes for him. I’d mentioned to him that we were looking to get him tied down to the end of next season and there was no real humming or hawing he said ‘Let’s do it definitely’.

Neilston are back in action at New Tinto Park on Saturday where they take on Benburb.

Kick-off is at 2pm.
