ARTHURLIE assistant Mark Cameron has ruled himself out of the running for the managerial vacancy at Dunterlie.

As revealed by Barrhead Sport earlier today Gavin Duncan tendered his resignation to the ‘Lie hierarchy yesterday evening — stunning players and fans in the process.

And, following a statement from Arthurlie secretary Andy Pollock this morning, Mark Cameron has moved to confirm he doesn’t want to be considered for the manager’s position.

Cameron had been touted to take over the reins having previously been the boss at Dunterlie — but will be in charge until a successor is appointed.

He exclusively told Barrhead Sport: “I think it is for the best that the club get a complete break.

“I have got a loyalty and friendship to Gavin and I am not interested in taking over the manager’s job.

“The club know I won’t walk away and leave them in the lurch.

“I wouldn’t leave them with nothing so I have agreed, along with Billy Peacock, to take the side until someone is appointed.

“Who knows, that could be before the weekend, either way we will just prepare the side as well as we can for Saturday.”
