NEILSTON boss Robert Fox has admitted that he would be happy to win it ugly if it meant avoiding the dreaded drop.

A solid performance on Saturday gave the Farmer's Boys their first win of 2012 at Brig O'Lea and now the manager hopes that his side can continue to pick up points in the quest to pull away from the relegation zone.

Fox told Barrhead Sport: "It was not a pretty match on Saturday, but it was effective.

"The boys did what was asked of them and got the three points.

"The home form has not been good, but when you don't get results at home there's that bit of added pressure.

"When we went one up on Saturday you could see the players got a bit nervous, but once we got the second goal they settled down.

"I thought we deserved it though and is a great result for us.

"Hopefully that will be a wee stepping stone for us to go and get a run of victories which will take us further away from the danger zone.
