LIE boss Sandy MacLean praised his deadly strike duo of Paul Stewart and James Marks after they put in sterling performances to easily sweep aside lacklustre Kilbirnie.
Free-scoring Stewart hit the opener on 20 minutes, then converted from the spot before adding a dream treble before half time, while Scott Arthur nabbed a late consolation.
He told Barrhead Sport: "Paul Stewart has been outstanding and that is why we brought him in as we thought he could score goals at this level, and we have seen with the amount of goals he has scored as returns.
"Equally important and deserving of credit is his strike partner James Marks who came off the pitch with stud marks on his shin, an injured thigh and a bump to the head, he does the grafting up there and also deserves to take the plaudits.
"It was nice to get back to winning ways again on Saturday. We are fed up getting beaten every other week by Irvine Meadow - but if you take those defeats out of the equation we have started rather well this season.
"We were missing Ryan Deas and John McLay and Joe Bradley has proven to be the perfect foil for Gary Livingstone. We have a lot of talented players who can work well together and score some goals for the side."
On fire Stewart will face a stern test against Marvin Andrews on Saturday as Arthurlie travel to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, kick off is 2pm at Adamslie Park.
