Fox made new Brig O'Lea boss
ROBERT Fox was installed as Neilston manager on Monday night.
The Brig O'Lea committee came to a unanimous agreement the former Farmer's Boys player should take over as manager from Bobby Crilly who left last month.
The decision came following Neilston's fantastic 7-0 rout against Colony Park in the Emirates Junior Cup on Saturday.
Fox was delighted to be given the manager's post and is excited about taking charge of his first game on Saturday against Shettleston at Brig O'Lea.
He said: "I am delighted to get the job and to get the uncertainty out the road.
"Saturday is where it starts for me and I want to get Neilston further up the league and challenging for promotion.
"The players have set a standard after Saturday's win and they are capable of doing that. I am looking forward to Saturday and I am excited about it.
"I am a Neilston boy and I want them to be successful."
Neilston secretary Hugh Blair said: "I am pleased with the decision. He has done a good job on and off the park in the last couple of weeks.
"The players I have spoken to will be delighted with the decision and the supporters will be happy as well."
The search for an assistant will continue for Fox. In the meantime, Andy Whiteford will coach on a short-term basis.
Neilston's clash with Shettleston kicks off at 2pm on Saturday at Brig O'Lea.
