LIE LEGEND: Craig Malcolm will be missed by the Dunterlie Park faithful
By Robert Burns and Andrew Miller
STAR Arthurlie striker Craig Malcolm has taken the leap into the senior ranks after being snapped up by Stranraer.
Last season's top scorer will now have the chance to further his career in the Third Division and will see him pit his wits against defenders from teams such as Clyde, Queens Park and East Stirling.
And Lie have also lost another hot prospect from their ranks after 19-year-old goalkeeper Kieran Cannon decided to move to America to take up a scholarship.
And although Tam Murdoch and Stephen Anderson have both agreed to stay on with the club it has been suggested they will be allowed to leave if Arthurlie receive a suitable offer for either of the midfielders.
Despite a few players moving on, the bulk of last year's squad have had their services retained by the club.
Neil Parry has been joined in re-signing by club captain John McLay.
Other players putting pen to paper to extend their stay are John Johnstone, John Bradford, Frank McKeown, and Callan Adam.
Defenders Steven Crawford and James Lundie as well as midfielder Steven Bonar and striker Alan Waddell are all still under contract and will be there to challenge for the title in the coming campaign.
Manager Mark Cameron has already been busy in the transfer market, with the signings of Steven McKeown and David Merriman already secured.
But the gaffer was remaining tight-lipped on other potential signings as talks continue.
He told Barrhead Sport: "We have a handful of signing targets but nothing will be said until any deals are confirmed and lodged with the SFA."
In the season ahead, Lie will be looking to become the first side to retain the league cup in its history as well as going one better in the league and clinch the title.
The opening fixtures for the club are as follow:
