ST Mirren fans are faced with yet more delays for strips as JD Sports postpone player appearance at Paisley store.

After a long wait and several delays which JD blamed on issues with their supplier, today (Thursday) was last week announced as the launch day for the strip and first team players Lewis Morgan, Andy Webster, Calum Gallagher and Jack Baird were scheduled to appear at the store to meet fans.

However JD have postponed the event and said only a limited number of kits would be available to buy, close to two months after St Mirren's first competitive game of the season.

A statement on the club's website said: "We would like to inform fans that the planned St Mirren players appearance at the JD store in Paisley scheduled for Thursday 8th September has now been postponed.

"As fans are aware, the new 2016/17 replica kit was scheduled for on-sale for the same day (Thursday 8th September). JD would like to make fans aware there will be a very limited number of the new replica shirts available for sale, and these will be at the Paisley store only, however they are still awaiting delivery of a number of sizes."

A spokesperson from JD said: “We would like to apologise to the fans for this delay, we share their frustrations and we are doing everything we can to get the full order in stock as soon as possible. We are in constant contact with the Club and are keeping them updated.”

JD will be funding a discount of £10 on all adult and junior 2016/17 St Mirren replica shirts as a goodwill gesture and a new date for the players appearance at JD will be announced soon.
