Arthurlie moved into the last 16 of the Scottish Junior Cup after squeezing past Rutherglen Glencairn on penalties.
The Barrhead team fell behind after just 10 minutes at the Hamish B. Allan Stadium as Allan Woodhouse put the First Division leaders in front but the response was impressive, with Michael MacNeil equalising just a few minutes later.
Dylan Dykes scored from 12 yards for the away side just before the interval and Lee Roulston looked to have secured victory when he made it 3-1 after 51 minutes.
The home side hit back, however, and forced penalties thanks to goals from Dylan Collins and Mason Durham.
As the tie headed to the lottery of spot-kicks, it was Colin Reilly’s side who came out on top, as Collins was kept out by Max Clarke and Roulston netted the decider.
That sets up a clash with Benburb at New Tinto Park later this month.
Arthurlie return to league action this Saturday, as Darvel visit Dunterlie Park, with kick-off at 1.30pm.
