NEILSTON have announced that co-managers Martin Campbell and John Paul Dow will both leave the club after this weekend's West of Scotland Cup match.

Dow confirmed last month that he would be parting company with the club due to work commitments and pressure after two and half years in the role.

And now Campbell has decided to follow suit with the Farmer's Boys reluctantly accepting his resignation last night.

Campbell told the Barrhead News that he felt it was the right time to go.

He said: "I just felt the time was right for me to go.

"It wasn’t a decision I took lightly as I have had a great two and half years at Neilston but I know whoever comes in will be inheriting a fantastic squad with a great committee behind them."

A club statement read: "The club regrets to announce we have reluctantly accepted the resignation of co-manager Martin Campbell.

"Martin, along with co-manager John Paul Dow, successfully steered the club to promotion to the West Region Championship last season at only the second attempt.

"Martin and John Paul, who was leaving after this Saturday's match due to pressures of work, will take the team this coming Saturday for the last time.

"The committee would like to place on record that both Martin and John Paul along with John Boyd,  Derek Carson and Billy McCorkindale, have given so much time and effort to Neilston Juniors over the last couple of seasons and we thank them both for leaving the club in such a good, solid footing.

"We wish them both all the best for the future in whatever they do and both Martin and JP will always be welcome at Brig O'Lea anytime.

"After next Saturday's match Derek Carson has agreed to be caretaker manager and the committee wish to thank Derek very much for this and will support him fully."

Neilston currently sit 11th in the newly-formed West Championship having won four and drawn three of their opening 12 matches.

Both Martin and John will take charge for the last time this weekend as the Farmer's Boys host Craigmark Burntonians in the first round of the West of Scotland Cup.
