Arthurlie have been drawn to face Dundee Violet in the third round of the Macron Scottish Junior Cup.

Duncan Sinclair’s men learned their fate after Tuesday afternoon’s draw and will welcome the McBookie.com Premier League North outfit to Dunterlie Park on October 27.

The Violet have started their league campaign relatively well with four wins, one draw and three defeats from their opening eight matches which see them sitting in eighth place after picking up a 2-1 win against Forfar Albion in their most recent outing.

John Dunn’s side eased past Maryhill FC 4-2 in the second round two weeks ago to book their place in the draw.

Arthurlie, meanwhile, have been in fine form themselves, putting back-to-back wins together for the first time this season as they saw off Forres Thistle to progress to this stage.

Lie made it to the fifth round of this competition last year, eventually losing to Carnoustie Panmure but with new management on board and a new-look side enjoying a recent run of good form, the Dunterlie Park side will be confident of going further.

Sinclair said: “I’ve had a look at their results since the draw and they’re much like ourselves in terms of results so far this season so it will be a good match.

“We’re thankful the tie is at home. I’ve mentioned before that we’re looking to Dunterlie Park into a fortress and that attitude will be no different against them. I want to teams to fear coming to Arthurlie.”
