BARRHEAD high jumper Nikki Manson was unlucky as she failed to qualify for the women's high jump final at the European Championships in Berlin.
Manson, representing Great Britain for the first time at a major event, comfortably cleared 1.81m in her first attempt but she could not make it over 1.86m in the following three attempts as she crashed out in the first qualifying round at the Olympiastadion.
The Giffnock North Athletics Club member has been in good form this summer and was hopeful of a good showing in the German capital after finishing third at the British Athletics Championships last month with a clearance of 1.87m but she could not replicate that personal best height she produced in Birmingham.
