The Scotland Disabled Flyfishing Team romped to victory at Eyebrook Reservoir in England where early temperatures hit 29C.

On day one confidence was high and the team soon took a commanding lead, netting 15 fish to equal the other three home nations. At the weigh-in on day two it was evident Scotland had once again swept the board to win gold for a ninth successive time with 22 fish.

Angus Armour won the Brown Bowl, while Dave Penny won the heaviest fish with a rainbow weighing 2lbs 8oz. England came second followed by Wales then Ireland.

Winning methods included floaters, DI7s and buzzers, crunchers and fabs.

Lawfield Trout Fishery near Kilmacolm: A total of 102 fish recorded last week. Notable: D. McMillan 11 up to 7lbs, S. Hamilton 8, A. Dallas 8, A. Moore 4, A. Rankin 2 up to 7lbs, C. New Howwood near Paisley: The heat pushed fish back into deeper water near Dam Wall. At the height of the heatwave Colin closed for a day to protect the fish. Callum McNeish from The John McCann Fishing Foundation had two cracking catches from the Dam Wall and Ebony Fleming also from The Foundation also had fish from the same area. Harelaw Trout Fishery, near Neilston: Caley Liners caught 70 fish from five boats. Other catches include Thomas McNaughton 7, Jim Stevenson 5, Paul O’Neill 12, Kenny Cullen 5 and John Sweeney 8.
