ARTHURLIE manager Billy Ogilvie was full of praise for his side’s performance despite their 3-0 defeat to Hurlford.

The Lie’s miserable run of form continued as the loss made it seven league games without a win, which has condemned the Dunterlie Park side to a relegation play-off.

But Ogilvie was adamant his side had put in a positive display and bemoaned some controversial refereeing that handed Hurlford United the advantage.

He said: “I thought we played really in spells and we were disappointed with the way the match went and with some of the decisions.

“Everyone in the ground could see the lad who scored the first was offside, and then they got a penalty, to everybody’s surprise,
for the second.

“But I thought we played really well.”

Arthurlie’s task was made no easier by the absence of several key players, including Ryan Scanlon, but the players will now have to pick themselves up again, with their Super Premier Division future at stake.

Ogilvie added: “We’ve just not been getting that wee rub of the green our performances have deserved.

“When you’re languishing at the bottom, you feel the world is against you and you get no decision.

“We just have to get on with it and we will get our just rewards.

“When we go into the play-offs we are looking to make a right good account of ourselves and, hopefully, we can keep ourselves in the league.”
