NEILSTON co-boss John Paul Dow admitted still being in the hunt for a play-off place galvanised his side to Saturday’s 4-2 win over Wishaw.

The visitors led 2-1 at the break before Dylan Fletcher levelled and then Paul Stewart completed a hat-trick with two penalties.

Dow said: “We told the boys at half-time to keep going and you’ll create chances and you’ll fight your way back into it – and we certainly did. They stayed composed and, to be fair, our two strikers took their chances well.”

The co-boss also highlighted the importance of striker Stewart and keeper Robert Tiropoulis after he denied McGuire’s lifeline of a penalty kick and a late drive to secure the points.

He said: “Paul has that class about him and we’re delighted to have him in our team. Robert pulled off a few world class saves that kept us in the game.”

Neilston next play host to Shotts in the league on Saturday at 2pm, and face Wishaw away on May 23 at 7.30pm.
