MEARNS Castle High pupil Owen Vinter has won the Overall British Championships for the fourth consecutive year.

The 15-year-old won three Alpine British Championship titles – British Super G, British Giant Slalom and British Overall at the Delancey British Alpine Championships in Tignes, France.

This is the fourth year Owen has won the Giant Slalom and Overall titles.

Owen, from Glasgow Ski Racing, a dry ski slope in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, takes the top position in British Children’s Ski Racing. Owen’s brother, Zak Vinter, is currently in the British U21 Ski Team and the 18-year-old came third overall in the British Senior and U21 category which took place the week before in Tignes.

Owen said: “I am delighted to hold onto the title in my last year of children’s racing.

“I knew that many of the top English athletes where chasing hard this year and I had to push my limits once more.”

Owen now joins his brother in Senior Ski Racing.
