BARRHEAD and Neilston bowling clubs held their opening days as the first jacks signalled the start of the new season.
At Barrhead BC president Ian Handvidge welcomed members and visitors from several other clubs from Paisley and District and Ayrshire.
He then invited his wife, Hazel, to officially open the green by throwing the first jack and bowls of the season last weekend.
On a sunny afternoon, seven rinks played eight ends each.
Later on, Ian gave a speech to welcome members to the new campaign before a buffet lunch.
The Neilston Bowling Club opening was also well attended with members enjoying the first matches of the year.
