BOXER Scott Cardle will make his return to the ring on Friday, October 7, at the SSE Hydro to take on Kevin Hooper.
The British lightweight champion, whose mother and father hail from Barrhead, will defend his title against the Grimsby fighter on the undercard of Ricky Burns’ WBA World Super-Lightweight defence against Kiryl Relikh.
The undefeated Cardle, who is now based in England was last in action, again at the Hydro, back in May when he defeated Ivan Njegac on points.
Hooper has won 19 of his 22 fights in the professional ranks and the 32-year-old will be making his Sky Sports debut.
A stacked undercard will support Burns’ clash with Relikh, with Scottish Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Charlie Flynn tackling Manchester’s Kofi Yates, outings for Flynn’s Commonwealth Games teammate Joe Ham and Brixton’s heavyweight star Dillian Whyte, plus more to be added.
