ARTHURLIE manager Steve Kerrigan has revealed how he's snapped up several new faces- and a few familiar ones- as he beefs up next season's squad.

Kerrigan has persuaded classy midfielder Ian Nimmo to return to the club for a second spell after he was loaned out by Bo'ness last season.

In addition, goalkeeper Kevin Macklin is to return to the club after a previous stint with the 'Lie.

And Kerrigan has also brought in goalkeeper Grant Hay from Maryhill and defender Graham Girvan, from Irvine Meadow.

Last night Kerrigan revealed that he's boosted his defensive options further by recruiting former Petershill centre-half Jordan Chisholm too.

"Getting Grant is a good piece of business," said Kerrigan.

"We thought at one time he would be signing for Pollok or Queens Park but we're delighted to get him.

"With Grant Girvan, he is a right-back primarily but he's equally comfortable playing in midfield.

"He comes with a good pedigree being at Ross County for a number of years, Petershill and Irvine Meadow.

"I'm also delighted to get Jordan Chisholm, he's a good centre half.

"Jordan missed a few games last season with Petershill but every time I saw him play, he was a big commanding centre half.

"He's the type of guy who'll be good in the dressing room too."

Kerrigan declared himself satisfied with his summer signing spree so far and added: "We now have a solid base to start from.

"What we hope to have is a squad of around 17 or 18 players and although that can be a gamble, it's about quality over quantity.

"With Ian Nimmo, we had to stump up some money to get him from Bo'ness so we're delighted because he did us a real turn last season."

Arthurlie have confirmed their first three pre-season friendly fixtures.

On Saturday, July 16 the Barrhead club will entertain Craigroyston at Dunterlie, before they play host to Clydebank on Wednesday, July 27.
