The club is calling on youngster’s from Barrhead and the surrounding villages to get along and pick up the sport, learning key skills and drills from qualified coaches.

The camp will run from Tuesday, October 14 to Thursday 16 — and with an large increase in popularity over the past two years, with the camps launched in 2012, the event will now also be open to primary one and two pupils of all skill and abilities.

The increase in numbers has seen the camps split into skill appropriate groups which give players the chance to develop a number of key attributes as well as the basic skills.

Passing, catching, tackling, offloading and ball presentation training will all be on offer as part of the Scottish Rugby Union core skills programme — key national development themes.

The club welcome youngsters for their thriving micros section which features primary one and two pupils.

The camps offer a key taste of action to see if children enjoy the sport before deciding whether or not to take their next step into the side.
