When I got into radio, it was a last-ditch attempt to do something with my life.

I’d already been rejected for two different courses and I honestly never expected to get anywhere with this.

Looking back at where my life was, it’s impossible to tell you how hard it was to go from where I was to where I am now.

So, why am I telling you this? Am I trying to impart some massive life lesson about determination and not giving up?

Not even a little bit – at least, not this week.

I’m telling you this because I realise something....I want a Nobel Peace Prize. Seriously.

Now, I admit the main reason I want it is because there’s a lot of talk about Donald Trump getting it – and my theory is, if he can potentially be nominated, why can’t I?

I’m nowhere near as nasty, xenophobic, sexist or orange as he is, so why not me?

This is where I call on you, the general public, my friends and bosses at the Barrhead News, anybody who reads this really.

Do you really want to see Trump getting a peace prize?

Do you want to see Trump getting ANYTHING?

If you answered ‘no’ to both of these questions, then step right up, friend.

Think of it – how excellent would it be? A little Sunday radio show from Barrhead goes up against the president of the United States and wins a Nobel Peace Prize.

He would be so cheesed off – and that absolutely makes it worth it.

Now, in all honesty, I don’t actually know how to apply for a Nobel Prize, peace or otherwise, but I’m genuinely considering it.

Plus, if I win, how great would it be to have it in Barrhead?

I’d be pretty proud of that.

To be fair, I’d be following in some pretty impressive footsteps.

Take last year’s winners, for example.

The 2017 Nobel Peace Prize went to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (Ican).

It’s a lot to live up to but this is something I’m genuinely considering.

If I can find out how, I would absolutely do it.

What do you think though? Would you be willing to back my Nobel bid?
This is a work in progress. I’ll keep you all updated.
