A WORTHY cause is more than £2,000 better off, thanks to a caring team of fundraisers.

Staff at the Uplawmoor Hotel went that extra mile to raise cash for the Paisley-based Accord Hospice.

As well as organising events such as a karaoke night, they took part in the Great Scottish Run to coin in cash.

And their hard work has resulted in a fundraising total of £2,193.

Emma Peacock, who runs the Uplawmoor Hotel with her husband Stuart, were keen to do something special to celebrate 25 years at the helm of the popular venue.

With this in mind, she joined forces with members of staff to host fundraising events throughout October in support of Paisley’s Accord Hospice.

Fellow staff members Iona Macleod, Claire Hickey, Louise Taylor, Yvonne Fennell and Lorna Farquar tackled the Great Scottish Run 10K together last month.

Also among the fundraising efforts was a raffle, bonus ball and karaoke which altogether managed to raise a total of £2193.66 for the hospice.

Emma said: "We are delighted and grateful for all the support we received from our team who all got involved and our customers who supported us.

"We had lots going and it was all for a great local cause that we have supported for many years.

"The Accord Hospice is important to us and many of our customers so we were delighted to give back to them.

"Thank you to everyone who supported us and to the team for all their hard work."
