A TRADITIONAL football match will get gala day celebrations under way in Uplawmoor this weekend.

Taking place on Saturday, June 10 from 1pm to 4pm, organisers promise a fun day for the entire family.

After the game, the fancy dress parade will begin at 12.45pm, passing through the park in time for the official opening at 1pm.

There are stalls including crafts, community groups, baking, garden plants, bric-a-brac, tombola and a nail bar.

Organisers are also expanding on last year’s popular mini classic and custom car show.

Hazelbank Equestrian will host pony rides, and there will also be a bouncy castle, hook a duck and lucky dip stall.

The Uplawmoor Runs will stage races for all age groups and the tennis club will be running events during the day.

For refreshments, the tea room and sausage sizzle will be open all day long.

Prizes will be given for first second and third prizes in the fancy dress parade, and there will be a chance to win best dressed runner in the 1k race.

There are still spaces for stalls – contact the team via the Uplawmoor Gala Day Facebook page for info.
