NEILSTON is ready to saddle up for its annual agricultural show is this weekend - with a huge selection of fun stalls and activities. There will be the various cute animals on show, including pet lambs and Shetland Ponies, as well as a dog agility show and the main competition for top farm animals.

There will also be a parade through the village at 1pm, led by the acclaimed Neilston Pipe Band.

The Lintmill fields will also be playing host to several different family events including Tug O' War, as well as fun for the gentle spirited at the arts and crafts tent.

The Go Neilston Project will also be hosting a stall at the show to let villagers know more about their efforts to get the town active.

They will also be running a gruelling 4.5 mile race around the tracks around Neilston Pad starting from the show field - leaving at 10am from the Go Neilston tent.

TROPHIES Winners will be presented with trophies, almost as prestigious as winners from the main cattle show.

Another competition where audience members could win is the dog show - with entries being accepted for all ages in the pedigree category - as well as a novelty category for cross breeds and a fancy dress competition for dogs and their owners.

Entry for the dog competition is on the day, with entries opening at 10am and judging starting at 11.30am.

It costs �1 an entry and will be judged by internationally renowned dog show judge Isabelle Nicol, with the dog judged best in show receiving it's prize in the main competition ring.

Show President James Carswell told the Barrhead News: "It's a big range of events, from the schools relay race to a huge variety of farmyard animals, including some different ones you don't normally see like donkeys and llamas and that kind of thing.

"There is also baking and crafts, as well as the fancy dress parade which is always quite a sight.
