NEW figures have revealed that there are currently ten registered sex offenders living in the Barrhead area. However, the information, obtained by a Freedom of Information request, does not detail the nature of the crimes or who the offenders are.

THE Barrhead News is backing a fund-raising campaign to get the 1st Barrhead Scout hut in tip top condition. It is hoped that the fund-raising initiative will raise thousands to help fix the Arthurlie Street hall roof.
