ONE lucky Scot is being given the chance be the voice of one of Scotland’s biggest radio stations.

s1jobs is allowing a would-be radio host to work behind the scenes to see first-hand what it’s like to work at Heart Scotland.

The ‘Day in the life of a radio presenter’ will see the winner watch a live broadcast, meet the presenters and see how radio shows are produced.

With Heart Scotland broadcasting across Central Scotland to 420,000 listeners each week, the winner will be expected to learn exactly what it takes to make it in the industry.

For anyone looking to work in radio or media in the future, the experience would enhance their CV to make them stand out from the crowd.

Michelle Green, s1jobs brand manager, described how job interviews can be difficult, in particular, when competition is as fierce as it is in the media industry.

She added: “Our competition offers the chance to add something different to your CV as well as the opportunity to bring a fun and exciting workplace example to interviews.

“It’s also not just for those looking to break into the media industry, perhaps you’re a super-fan or simply want to see what happens behind the scenes at one of the biggest radio stations in Scotland.

“We ran a similar competition two years ago and the winner went on to secure further work experience at the radio station, which meant he really had something to shout about when applying for jobs.

“s1jobs is all about bringing candidates and employers together so, for us, this is an excellent opportunity to provide someone with relevant experience they can take with them into their future.”

To enter, head to s1jobs here and write a 100-word statement on why you should win.

Entries close at 11.59pm on Monday, August 13 and the winner will be announced the following day.
