Celtic-daft UFC World Champion Conor McGregor has been hitting in the gym in a Hoops top, much to the delight of both players and fans.

The Irishman, 29, posted two images of himself on Instagram on Thursday in which he gave his favourite team a “shout out.”

He wrote: “Working on the ‘Blitz’ tonight at @sbgireland.

“An underrated technique until it goes through you at 100mile an hour.

“Shout out Celtic football club.”

Within hours, the post gathered over 540,000 reactions.

Left back Kieran Tierney was among the thousands to comment.

The 20-year-old replied to the MMA legend: “Nice shirt my man! Hero.”

Celtic Football Club also praised the post and wrote: “Hail Hail.”

Hoops fans went into overdrive as the post amassed 4,000 comments.

Celtic fans have previously shown their support for McGregor at Parkhead.

As reported by the Evening Times in August, the Green Brigade unfurled a huge banner in the stands, dedicated to the sportsman.

It read: “We’re not here to take part. We’re here to take over!”

McGregor’s Hoops jersey post comes just days after he posed for a selfie with ex-Glasgow girl Michelle Mone.

Many followers hit back at the picture with the 46-year-old, mum-of-three. One wrote: “She hasn’t done Scotland proud.”
