PEOPLE who live and work in Neilston are needed to share their views on alcohol use in their area. The first survey of its kind ever to be carried out in the village, wants to find out in a constructive and informative way how alcohol affects the local community.

The findings will go on to influence local policies from alcohol licensing to the way alcohol support services are provided.

Councillor Alan Lafferty, convener for social work and health, said: "This project puts the Neilston community at its heart, so make sure you fill in the online survey.

"Your views and opinions will help to inform how alcohol related harm is reduced locally.

"The partners involved will use the findings to target their work, so the more people who contribute will mean a greater impact and outcome."

The project is funded by The Robertson Trust. Alcohol Focus Scotland is leading the work along with partners East Renfrewshire council and CHCP, Neilston Development Trust and the Alcohol Drug Partnership.
