Marion Cunningham, her partner John Campbell and their three children returned from holiday on Friday to discover ginger Tom Garfield had gone missing.

Marion, 33, said she is worried sick about the four-year-old moggy who was last seen over one week ago.

And she has appealed to the public for information that could see the family reunited with their treasured pet.

Marion, from Tower Avenue in Dunterlie, said: "My friend was looking after him while we were away but he went missing over a week ago and hasn't been seen since.

"He is a very affectionate cat and it could be someone is looking after him. He quite often goes down to the petrol station on Glasgow Road but he always comes home so I'm worried something bad has happened to him.

"If anyone has seen him or knows where he is please get in touch."

Garfield is one of three cats owned by the family along with four-year-old Mittens and Cheeky who is an amazing 20-years-old.

Marion's kids Aimee, 15, Andrew, 9, and six-year-old John are all desperate to be reunited with Garfield and contacted the Barrhead News to ask if we could share their story.

If anyone has information about Garfield, please call Marion on 07587093569.
