Customers were treated to delicious cakes at Barrhead’s bake sale, and even had a visit from Specsavers’ very own giant ear mascot.
The opticians’ sister store in Paisley joined in the celebrations by holding a tombola stall and also had the ear mascot out pounding the streets of Paisley.
The £110 raised across both hearing events will be donated to the charities Hearing Dogs and Comic Relief.
The Barrhead store’s hi-tech Specsavers Hearing Centre joins Paisley’s to become the second in the Renfrewshire area.
The new hearing service has already been a great success so far, with appointments filling up to see the store’s experienced audiology team.
The team visit the store every second Monday and includes hearing dispenser June Wilson who hails from Barrhead.
June said: “I’ve lived in Barrhead all my live so I’m incredibly excited to be working within the community.
“It’s fantastic that the store has invested in the new hearing service — enabling locals to access Specsavers’ first class hearing assessments and range of state-of-the-art digital hearing aids.”
