Local tradesmen and businesses should register on the council’s Online Trading Network at www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/otn and at Public Contracts Scotland www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk This will enable them to take advantage of the current opportunities and other tenders released throughout the year.
Businesses who sign up will then receive email alerts when East Renfrewshire Council and other public sector organisations are looking for your business’s goods and services. If you would like any help or advice on joining call Suzanne McCall on 0141 577 3792.
Cllr Ian McAlpine, convener for corporate services said: “Only 20 per cent of East Renfrewshire businesses are registered on the Public Contracts Scotland portal. Registration is free on this portal which provides opportunities to view tendering opportunities for all of the Scottish public sector.
“Sometimes small and medium-sized businesses are put off by what they think is a complicated process, but it couldn’t be easier and the potential for businesses to pick up work is huge.”
