Claire McGeachy, 26, performed an all singing and dancing proposal for her childhood sweetheart, Catriona Bruce (25), at Silverburn last week . Armed with a flashmob of thirty 7-18 year olds, the couple brought the busy mall to a standstill as Claire popped the question.
They first met in school and have been together for three years. After four months of planning, Claire used dancers from Children in Need funded ‘Pop School’ and West Lothian ‘Stage Skool’ who had been mingling amongst shoppers before helping to woo her partner.
Catriona, a Silverburn regular, had been lured by her neighbours to the mall via a treasure hunt when the dancers began performing to a medley of songs including The Contours ‘Do You Love Me’ and Bruno Mars ‘Marry you’.
Catriona Bruce, Bride-to-be, said: “I’m so surprised and ecstatically happy. It’s been a whirlwind of a day with all our family and friends involved.” David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, said: “We are delighted that Claire has chosen the mall as the perfect venue to propose to her new fiancé. It’s been a privilege to be a part of their special day and it is something the couple and our shoppers will remember for the rest of their lives.”
