After masterminding a massive overhaul of Barrhead Train Station with donated plants and decorations earlier this year, the East Renfrewshire Young Team were invited to transform the faces of Williamwood and Muirend Train Stations.

The team, made up of youngsters from both St Luke’s and Barrhead High Schools gave up their own time on August 7 to rejuvenate and re invigorate the ageing stations before they take on a 5k challenge to raise money for Lauren’s Lifelines.

PC Alan Walker, Barrhead High campus cop and leader of the group said: “Once again the kids did a fantastic job and really got stuck into the project before them “It was great to see so many of the kids giving up their own time to do good things not just in the Barrhead community but surrounding communities too.

“And a lot of thanks has to go to Impact Gardens and Darren Cryans for giving up their time to help us once again.” Next month the youngsters are set to run a colourful 5 kilometers to help raise money for Lauren’s Lifelines.

The Colour me Rad 5k will take place in Glasgow on September 23 and donations are now being taken to support the team.

Speaking about his role helping the group this wee, Impact Garden’s Darren Cryans said: “Thie motivation for the projects is very inspirational especially as it is their summer holidays.

“It has been my pleasure and Impact Gardens pleasure to be a part of this.”
