Report to Community Council reveals crime stats

REPORTING to Barrhead Community Council, police revealed that there 89 reported crimes in Barrhead over November and December.

Of these, 36 were detected and included no serious assaults. There were 10 incidents of simple assault while there were 11 reported incidents of breach of the peace.

The highest reported crime was theft at 29 incidents and only one detection, which the office present attributed to the financial situation and the festive season.
