NEILSTON shooting latest.

The latest information from the trial of James McCarron and Francis Coates, who deny murdering John Finneggan in Bank Street, Neilston, last October.

ACCORDING to Barrhead's town hall clock it has been 12 o'clock for nearly ten years, having stopped turning in 2003.

Now, however, the clock is back up and running after East Renfrewshire Council undertook a restoration programme on the 100-year-old timepiece.

A PROPER Christmas tree is returning to Barrhead Main Street this year after recent efforts were attacked as a "poor show".

Last month the Barrhead News reported there were no plans to improve or add to the lighting that is already a permanent feature on the street - this included no tree for the third year running.

All of this plus much more and sport in your local paper.
