AN icy Siberian blast is predicted to hit Barrhead and Neilston this weekend.
With the area already seeing snowfall and icy temperatures this week, the Met Office is predicting the cold snap to continue.
According to experts a cold front will clash with the current mild and wet conditions sitting over the Atlantic, making heavy snow a possibility over Scotland.
The cold air mass is currently sitting over Siberia, and could move down as far as the UK byn Sunday night.
Drivers have already been battling with icy roads and snowy conditions, with temperatures falling to -2C this week.
A spokeswoman for the MET Office said there were currently trying to predict whether the blast will bring more snowfall or a dry cold.
