'Gun arrest'
A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for allegedly brandishing what appeared to be a gun in a busy shopping centre.
Strathclyde Police said they detained the man after the incident at a shop in Silverburn Shopping Centre.
Officers were called to the scene around 2.30pm on Friday and police said the man is being questioned.
The Silverburn centre on Barrhead Road has almost 100 shops, with 14 restaurants and cafes. It first opened in 2007 and it is one of the largest shopping centres in the UK.
It is a major employer of East Renfrewshire people and retailers trading in the centre include Marks & Spencer, Kurt Geiger, Burton and Debenhams.
