NEILSTON residents are being asked about how the end of the Second World War should be commemorated in 2018.

Members of the Neilston War Memorial Association (NWMA) are preparing for the 100th anniversary of the conclusion of the ‘Great War.’

Many events and commemorative ceremonies will be taking place across the UK during 2018, with local organisers keen to hear from anyone else who would like to get involved.

A NWMA spokesperson said: “We have some ideas on how we should mark the 2018 commemorations but we look to offer the public and relatives of the soldiers some valuable input on how they believe we as a community should remember this historic occasion in a seminal and dignified way.

“You may be able to help with project ideas in some way, offer information or volunteer your participation in any planned events.”

Those who have views they would like to share should contact the NWMA team via their Facebook page.
