KIND-HEARTED little chefs whipped up an array of treats to raise money for Scotland’s most-deprived children.

Youngsters donned their pinnies for a sponsored cookathon at Crofthead Bowling Club, in Neilston, as part of the STV Children’s Appeal Big Scottish Breakfast.

Arranged by Totnosh volunteers, all proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the one in four kids who live in poverty and miss out on simple things most take for granted, such as having a proper meal.

Some of the kids can even class themselves as ‘television chefs’ after they featured on STV2’s Live at Five show last Friday.

Event organiser Louisa McKay praised everyone who gave generously on the day, with more than £600 raised.

Louisa, who is awaiting a final few donations, said: “An absolutely massive thank-you and well done to everyone who came to take part in our cookathon for the STV Big Scottish Breakfast.

“We’ve still a few donations to take in but the running total so far is £649.

“You were amazing little chefs, you were all fabulous. We need to say a massive thank-you to Crofthead Bowling Club for very kindly letting us use the club as a venue for our STV appeal fundraiser.

“Also, Tesco Barrhead for kindly donating a voucher towards our ingredients and the guys at Melo Velo, in Barrhead, for bringing along their smoothie bikes and letting everyone make delicious smoothies.

“And to Moxie Events, who very kindly donated a children’s party, Planet Play and everyone else who donated to the raffle and to Claire Burns and Kathleen Duguid for all their help at the event.”

STV’s annual Children’s Appeal show will be hosted by Lorraine Kelly tonight.
