KIDS were dancing for joy during a boogie-based arts and crafts class in Neilston.

Scores of excited youngsters packed out the village’s Bank Café for a Make It and Shake It session as they busted some moves, all while producing autumnal artwork.

Run by Mama Jules Art House, the event was organised to get little ones active and keep their creative skills ticking over during the October break.

And it wasn’t long before the dancefloor was filled with mini artists intent on showing off their talent.

Julie Given, founder of Mama Jules Art House, oversaw the day’s events.

She said: “It was a great day and it was fully booked.

“We do a lot of different classes. They’re a mixture – this one had an autumn theme – and, basically, it’s arts and crafts with random dance breaks.

“The kids are told what different crafts they are going to do and every time they hear certain songs, they jump up and shake it.

“As soon as the music stops, they go back to the crafts.

“At the moment, we run the classes mostly in Barrhead and Neilston and we’re also doing some birthday parties.”
