AN investigation has been launched after a six-strong gang of thugs launched a daylight attack on two men in a Neilston street.

Police are hunting for a group of men who targeted the two victims, aged 34 and 43, in Madras Place on Friday afternoon.

Although neither of the men was seriously injured, the yobs used weapons to crack the windows of the car their victims were travelling in.

Sergeant Michael Morganthaler, who is based at Giffnock Police Station, told the Barrhead News: “At 4.40pm on Friday, May 26, officers attended an incident in Madras Place, Neilston, in which two males, aged 34 and 43, were alleged to have been assaulted.

“They were believed to have been attacked by a group of six males.

“It’s believed that weapons may have been involved in the attack. No serious injuries were sustained.

“The blue Ford Focus the two victims were in also had its windows damaged.”

Police are keen to hear from anyone who can help with the investigation.

Sgt Morganthaler added: “Any persons who were in the vicinity at the time would have been aware of this happening and we’re keen to speak to anyone who may know more.
