DETECTIVES investigating the death of a Neilston footballer are eager to track down a small black car.

Craig Kearney, 24, was found lying injured in an East Kilbride street in the early hours of Sunday, March 5.

The former AFC Bonnyholm player died at the scene in Lochranza Drive, despite receiving treatment from the emergency services.

Police are now seeking information about a black car, similar in size to a Vauxhall Corsa or Volkswagen Polo, and want to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the street around the time Craig died.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "We continue to seek information which could help determine the circumstances surrounding Craig's death.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101."

A 46-year-old man had been arrested in connection with Craig's death last month but he was released from custody pending further enquiries.
