The kids at Madras Family Centre in Neilston had their eco-friendly greenhouse damaged for the FIFTH time in a year.

Other equipment was also found broken or burned, including the young pupils’ own scooters which had been left at the nursery and had their handlebars melted.

Head of the centre, Vicky Devlin, said: “The children are really sad and disappointed that someone would want to do this to their nursery garden.

“They get so much from learning and playing outside and a lot of time and effort has gone into making it a special outside space, so it’s quite shocking that it has been vandalised in this way.

“I know Madras is very well-supported in the local community and we would urge that any member of the public who sees someone doing anything to our nursery or our garden reports it immediately to stop it happening again.” In the most recent incident where the greenhouse was targeted, the children’s newly-decorated weather shelter was also damaged.

The windows and doors of the playhouse were broken and burned and the playship in the playground had its steering wheel pulled off and broken.

The nursery has been targeted in the evenings and on weekends. The cost of the damage this term alone runs to more than £1,000.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious in or around the nursery is being urged to contact the police immediately by calling 101.
